The marvelous adventures of Kaitlyn & Taylor, who call home for the past 1758 days.

Zagreb, Croatia

September - October 2012

Before we arrived in Zagreb, we couldn't have pointed out Croatia on a map. We were excited to explore a new country, and after living in Paris, it was a relief to find an affordable place to live.

Lauba is an old textile mill turned full-time art gallery. They threw a few tables and chairs in an extra room they had and boom! Croatia's first coworking space. Gallery visitors peered in thinking we were performance art. Maybe we were?

It was a difficult space to define. In the same week, it'd go from gallery to fashion runway and back to coworking. Sasa and I even made it into an article about the new coworking concept in Zagreb.

The best TV channel is Djudju Head. It's a 24 hour mix of funny photos, like the ones your mom used to forward you, and popular YouTube clips. Like Tosh.0 with no host. Just a non-stop playlist.

Zagreb street art was underwhelming after coming from Paris. They seemed to use public spaces to catalog their favorite music, movies and shopping lists.

Pretzels the size of your head! Get the door, it's the pizza man! Meat doughnuts with butter sauce!

One day, I sent Kaitlyn on a wild scavenger hunt all over town.
